Yesterday, I cooked eggs at home for the first time in six weeks.
Between buying a new house, moving with two small kids, running my business, and juggling multiple projects… my schedule got crushed.
Workouts? Minimal at most.
Meal prep? Nonexistent.
Sleep? Interrupted on an air-mattress.
Stress? Anyone want to take a guess?
And yet — I didn’t fall apart.
I didn’t “start over.”
And I didn’t need to go manic mode with a 5 hour workout & 3 corn flakes to compensate.
That's why I've crafted a protocol where my results aren’t dependent on perfection.
They’re anchored by specificity that takes into account these times actually happening.
[Because they always do.]
Most people build their fitness around everything going right.
Perfect meal prep. Every meal exciting & unique.
7 workouts a week. Massive Motivation.
Supplements lined up like trophies on the shelf.
Clean eating. Zero sugar. Optimal hydration.
Until…
The deal almost falls through and you have to drop everything.
Your kids get sick and your schedule goes sideways.
You’re living off takeout for 4 weeks straight.
And suddenly that “clean plan” turns into a guilt spiral.
It’s not that they aren’t disciplined.
It’s that their system has no flexibility, no foundation, and no guard-rails to guide you through.
My workouts during the move? Maintenance mode at best.
Short sessions. Sporadic days.
Lower weights. Phone calls during breaks.
Just enough to stay sane — and stay mobile.
But that was by design.
Because I know what to adjust when.
My anchors?
Walking & recoverable movement.
Protein shake mid-day & a protein bar in my backpack.
Magnesium before bed.
Knowing exactly which foods to avoid while eating out for over a month based on my microbiome testing and Metabolic SPEED data.
Now I didn't make MASSIVE gainz during this. The goal is to maintain & not fall back 10 steps on the ladder. Based on my Hume BodyPod scale, my bodyfat % stayed exactly the same through it. My lean muscle steady. Water was down some. Ok, guess I'll drink some water. Problem pretty easily solved & mental crisis averted.
Even during chaos, those habits held the line.
